The History of BA

1990: First WAFA show to feature BA at the Bagatelle in Paris. First entry in A BA Show by Christine Smart, a GCA Club Member. 

1991: GCA Sister club, Garden Club of Bermuda holds first BA Division judged by GCA Members. 

1992: First GCA Show featuring a BA Division:’Visions’ hosted by Wissahickon Garden club. Entered by WGC members: Alice Farley, Lisa Howe, Christine Smart, Cindy Affleck and Gail Irwin.

1993:  Joly Stewart of WGC convinces The Philadelphia Flower Show to include a ‘By Invitation Only’ BA Division.

Present day:  Botanical Arts has expanded beyond GCA shows, becoming a prominent division in events such as the Newport Flower Show and the Atlanta Flower Show. We are now marking the thirty-plus-year anniversary of Botanical Arts.
